Recipe: Snow Ice Cream Winter
Time: 15 minutes
In kindergarten, we learn to read for 3 purposes: for fun, for information, and to follow directions. Recipes are a great example of reading to follow directions.
Materials Required:
  • large mixing bowl
  • mixing spoon
  • measuring cups and spoons
    Approximately:
  • 5 cups fresh, clean snow
  • 1 cup whipping cream, half & half, or whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • dash of salt
Directions:
Collect snow into mixing bowl and bring inside. Add other ingredients and mix until combined. Eat right away. Mmm!

Experiment with ingredient amounts and other flavorings such as almond, mint, orange, lemon, or lime extract. To make ice cream creamier, add 1/2 of a mashed banana. For chocolate ice cream, add chocolate syrup.
