In kindergarten, we learn to read for 3 purposes:
for fun, for information, and to follow directions.
Recipes are a great example of reading to follow directions.

Directions:
|
This make-ahead treat can be found in the September, 2004 issue of Family Fun magazine.
- Wash hands thoroughly.
- Cover baking sheets with waxed paper.
- In a medium-size mixing bowl, use a wooden spoon to stir together the peanut butter, honey, and wheat germ. Use the rubber spatula to fold in the Rice Krispie cereal.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls (if the dough is too sticky, add a little more cereal so that it is easy to handle).
- Optional: Put one (or more) of the toppings listed in a small bowl and roll or dip the peanut butter balls into it.
- Place the balls on the waxed paper and chill them for about 2 hours.
- Store those coated in wheat germ in the refrigerator; store all others in the refrigerator or at room temperature. Keep for up to one week.
- Eat and enjoy!
