After-school Snack Recipe: Crescent Surprise How to be A Star
Time: 30 minutes
In kindergarten, we learn to read for 3 purposes: for fun, for information, and to follow directions. Recipes are a great example of reading to follow directions.
Materials Required:
  • 1 package Pillsbury crescent rolls
  • 8 large-size marshmallows (not mini)
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons softened butter or margarine
  • Cinnamon sugar
  • muffin baking tin or muffin baking stone
  • small rubber spatula
Directions:
This make-ahead treat can be found in the September, 2004 issue of Family Fun magazine.
  1. Wash hands thoroughly.
  2. Set your oven at 375 degrees.
  3. Open crescent rolls and separate into 8 triangles.
  4. (Optional): Use a rubber spatula to lightly spread butter or margarine onto crescent rolls.
  5. Place a marshmallow in the center of each crescent roll.
  6. Sprinkle each crescent roll with cinnamon sugar.
  7. Wrap the sides of the crescent roll around the marshmallow and pinch edges to seal the seams. Roll into a ball.
  8. Place balls, seam sides up, in muffin tin.
  9. Bake about 10 -- 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm.
  10. Eat and enjoy!
