Musical Boy Within the Full Day Kindergarten curriculum, music is used to enrich our thematic content, to develop vocabulary, to relax or transition the children from one activity to another, and to promote social interaction among the children through role play and exercise. Thematic song selections may be integrated into various subject areas. Soft instrumental selections may be heard upon arrival to school, during independent seat work, or during rest time. The children will be exposed to various music genres in order to promote an appreciation of diverse song styles.

Music helps the auditory learner process information that is introduced through direct instruction. Clever song lyrics, rhythm, and repetition are supportive of the diverse learning styles and range of abilities that exist within a classroom.
