Building a Snowman
Introduction:
Pull on your mittens. Put on your hat.
We’re gonna build a snowman that’s big and fat.
Verse 1:
Let’s gather some snow. Shape it into a ball.
Then place it on the ground so it doesn’t fall.
Verse 2:
Keep adding more snow, and then pack it real tight.
Now we have our base – big and snowy white.
Refrain:
March around the snowman, building him is fun.
We’re gonna have a new friend. See what we have done!
Spoken:
Let’s get back to work . . .
Verse 3:
Let’s give him a belly – keep on rounding it out.
Continue adding snow so he’s strong and stout.
Verse 4:
Let’s give him a head so he looks more like you.
Make it nice and round. Then here’s what we’ll do.
(Repeat refrain, substituting skate for underlined word)
Spoken:
Time to get back to work.
Verse 5:
Use two buttons for eyes. Add a big carrot nose.
Draw a happy smile and make sure it shows.
Verse 6:
Add two sticks for arms and a scarf and a hat.
If you’d like him to play ball, you can give him a bat.
(Repeat refrain, substituting skip for underlined word)
Finale:
Now it’s time to walk home through the snow so deep.
Turn around and wave to your snowman. I wonder, will he keep?
