(Revised 8/19/2009)
Homework reinforces the lessons that are taught in school, and provides
additional practice in order to promote student achievement.
Homework also informs parents of current curriculum content,
and serves as an assessment tool for the teacher.

Please note: The Jumper Reading Program requires a minimum of 60 minutes
of reading per week. We encourage you to save your child’s weekly sight word books
so that you acquire a reader-friendly home library that your child can revisit and read
throughout the school year.
Kindergarten homework should take approximately 20 – 30 minutes a day. Should your child
experience difficulty or frustration, please return the unfinished homework with a brief explanation, or complete the following day.
School closings may cause variations in our weekly homework schedule.
