Homework
(Revised 8/27/2007)

Homework Homework reinforces the lessons that are taught in school, and provides additional practice in order to promote student achievement. Homework also informs parents of current curriculum content, and serves as an assessment tool for the teacher. Kindergarten homework should take approximately 20 - 30 minutes a day. Homework routines vary among families. Try to establish a consistent and practical homework policy that works for your family. Should your child experience difficulty or frustration in completing an assignment, please return the unfinished homework with a brief explanation. Incomplete homework assignments due to a student absence may be submitted upon returning to school.

Parents: Please use this homework schedule to help coordinate the homework assignments.

Expect math homework as assigned Monday through Thursday.
Kindergarten homework should take approximately 20 – 30 minutes a day. Should your child experience difficulty or frustration, please return the unfinished homework with a brief explanation, or complete the following day.

Please note: The Jumper Reading Program requires a minimum of 60 minutes of reading per week. We encourage you to save your child’s weekly sight word books so that you acquire a reader-friendly home library that your child can revisit throughout the school year.
