The kindergarteners have come a long way this year; they’ve grown physically, socially, and academically. I am extremely proud of their accomplishments, and they are proud of themselves as well. The children have grown taller, changed shoe sizes, and lost baby teeth; they’ve learned to applaud their friends’ successes and support their challenges; they’ve learned to tie shoes and use a map; they’ve learned their addresses and phone numbers. Although we’ve acquired some minor bumps and bruises along the way, our successes greatly outweigh our battle scars. Together, we have generated kindergarten authors, illustrators, readers, mathematicians, scientists, and Yankee Doodle Patriots. I am continually amazed by the students’ ongoing achievements and endless quests for learning. They have developed both independent thinking skills and cooperative work strategies; they are ready for the first grade!
Thank you for supporting our kindergarten curriculum, for participating in your child’s kindergarten experience, and for contributing to our learning environment. I wish you sunny, fun-filled summer days ahead. Take time to enjoy the beauty of the season.
Sincerely,
